Because we kept talking over the days about this daydream I had. I shared it with them, as a joke... This is massively boring and I will never finish it :)

Writing the daydream I had at work so I can have something to show my sibling

It was a harsh cold, rainy night.

Jenna moved with concentration and thought. Her attention was held fast by a figure, down the dark alleyway. She pounced from shadow to shadow like a lion.

Her prey hadn’t the slightest idea she was unto them. They’d been moving cautiously for the past half hour she was on their unaware heels.

She’d been waiting for this perfect moment to attack-

Fwip!

They swiftly turned around. They were hoodie and mask clad. The only trace of identity on them was their dark, auburn hair, peeking sparsely from their cover.

She held her breath and dodged behind a convenient dumpster.

A high chime suddenly went off.

She wanted to face palm herself. The gig was up. There was no use in playing along now. She was going to have a serious word with her colleagues about calling her on the clock.

She shot up from the dumpster, unhoisting a ray in her hands and aiming it at her target.

They froze, but they hadn’t looked too bothered.

“Where are the others?” she asked, trim finger on the trigger. The target only lifted their hands.

‘Huh. They want to play the loyal game. Fair enough.’ She thought to herself then readied her shot-

SLOSH-

A wet thud sounds over her shoulder. Instantly, Jenna turns her soppy, auburn head. Another figure joins the alleyway. She hears several more thuds, and suddenly, her one target is accommodated by a gang. Their physiques are tall, masculine, and menacing.

‘Nice.’

She pressed her pager for backup, but just as swiftly as she turns away, her gun is kicked out of her grasp. She stifles a gasp and grabs the suitor's foot, but the pager is in their hand.

A moment of realization, and then-

She swats their foot down and goes for a sweeping kick herself, but they backflip away. She wastes no time feeling the gap, charging them with a spinning kick. They block her leg in the air with their own. She goes for another swift one and- man, this kid is good. Whoever the hell they were.

Their sparring continues as the rain pours down, and the rest of the opposing gang seemingly just… watches.

She picks up a spare rod by the dumpster and her opponent picks up the debris of a broken ladder. The sound of metal clashing with metal combats the thunder. Her opponent is good too. They block well and move quickly, but not as quickly nor as efficiently as her, because soon she backs them into a corner, respective metal weapons of choice hissing as they connect brutishly.

At this point she is so close to them, she can hear their breathing. Their breath was harsh, low and she could detect a hint of frustration in it, perhaps from being cornered by someone smaller than them. By comparison, Jenna’s opponent's hands that clenched their weapon were much larger.

She pressed forward, hearing them grunt as she pinned them back and warned them with her eyes-

FWOOSH-

THUD

Her opponent goes slack at the sudden distraction. She senses, one of their fellow men had fallen. Perfect opportunity to snatch her pager out of their pocket.

They swivel to Jenna’s hand, swiping the pager, and then back to their fallen colleague, seemingly choosing between the two, but shove Jenna away quickly, obviously choosing the ladder.

She turns herself, curious-

‘Oh.’

“Yeah bitch! Take that!” Bella crows, pinning an unlucky foe to the ground. Suddenly she’s tackled by several other guys. They pile on top of her. The pile rumbles and chuckles in a low sinister voice, before exploding. Bella laughs maniacally.

Jenna only watches as Bella begins to tear through the gang. A wet hand is on her shoulder. She looks up.

Dylan watches unimpressed, “Oh, you found them.” he notes. He eyes as one of the victims goes sailing through the alley air against a brick wall.

“Should we stop her?” Jenna asks.

“Huh? Oh. Nah. I don’t see any need to.” He turns, pulling out his own pager. Several other teens join them, and suddenly the alleyway is full of super hero teens.

“But we should keep them alive for the identity and information scan right?” Jenna continues.

Dylan puts on a thoughtful pout, “Hmm. I guess you’re right.” He and Jenna turn just in time to see their colleagues breaking the battle up. Jenna’s lips form a thin line. “Your pager is broken,” Dylan points out beside her.

She looks down at the yellow technical device in her hands. She hadn’t looked at it properly since she reclaimed it, and it was indeed, broken. Rain droplets dotting its shattered screen.

Ugh. She should have known this crappy thing was going to break under that pressure.

“Aw, great,” she moaned stuffing it back in her pocket-

“I can talk to Ms. Anne tomorrow about it,” Dylan assures her.

“This is the seventh one this week, and the scientist are getting tired of me returning this thing-”

“You’re a hero and your fighting. I’m sure they can understand.”

“Yeah I know, I just… “ Jenna huffed, her drenched hair drawing about her brown cheeks, a feature that didn’t go unnoticed by Dylan. He averted his eyes to the chaos behind her. “I just don’t know if I should be taking up their time with minor inconveniences, like this, you know?”

“Minor?”

“You know, because they have ‘more important matters to take care of’.”

“Who the hell told you that?”

“Professor. Yosef.”

“Fuck that guy.”

“Dylan…”

“No seriously. He told me last week I needed to learn how to piss quieter so as not to disturb his ‘break time’.”

Jenna scoffed, “That sounds… did he say that, or did you?”

“Alright, fine. I said it, because he took the last ham hoagie sandwich in the break room-”

Collin suddenly ran up to them, “Are you two done flirting yet? (an irritated look shot through Dylan) We pulled Bella off of those scum bags already and Savannah’s already tied their lousy asses up-”

Loud music suddenly blasted over his shoulder, followed by a glow. Collin, Jenna, and Dylan looked stupefied.

The gang of boys had suddenly gotten into formation.

“I thought you said you guys tied them up?” Dylan muttered, aghast.

“We did…” Collin replied just as shocked,

)

They held back, not knowing what to come, and the others joined them, well except Bella who tried to lunge herself into the boys but was held back by her twin.

“What the hell is going on?” Manny whispered to Dylan, looking frantic.

“I have no fucking idea,” he muttered back.

“She got. Me. Go-ing crazeeeeh-ooh!”

They began to break out in dance. The heroes were astounded.

“Wae simjang-i ttwinii-ooh!”

“Uhhh…” Manny said standing back.

The boys continued to bust a move as the others only watched.

Dylan looked completely over it, “See, this is why no one can take us seriously,” he muttered, “GAME is sending us to handle threats like this.”

“Neon aleumdawo naui Goddess. Dadhyeo issji Yeah yeah”

Savannah was grooving along on the side, “I could use this sort of energy in my life.”

Bella groaned, “Ugh, can we just go punch them and stop them from doing their stupid little dance now? They’re probably trying to do some ultra power up.”

Her twin was a different mood, “Whoo! Go K-pop boys!”

“Lillian! They’re the bad guys!” Bella cried, baffled.

Jenna tuned out her team's talking, her eyes training the steps. This tune, those steps… her eyes widened.

“Yeah, they look pretty ridiculous right?” Dylan scoffed beside her.

‘I know that dance.’ She thought to herself watching the moves.

There was a faint tingling sound that caught her attention. She looked up.

Just over the boys' heads, were stars. They seemed to be gaining them as they danced.

This was some power up. And they needed to stop them, fast-

A figure dashes aside from her to the group.

“Bella!” Lillian cries after her twin.

Bella charges at the group but instead of colliding with anybody, she instead hits some invisible force field and stumbles back brutally. Lillian anxiously goes to collect her.

Dylan’s eyes narrow. “Something’s not right here,” he mumbles to Jenna.

She blinks, “There are stars over their heads. Of course something isn’t right.”

“Stars?”

She looks at Dylan who’s furrowing a brow. “You don’t see them?” she replies.

He makes a slightly sour face, “I just see… idiots… dancing.”

She whips around. The eyes on the full face mask they’re wearing are glowing now too. Just off to the side, on the alley ground, she sees another glow. She rushes to it.

She could hear Dylan call her, obviously wondering what the hell she was doing, but her physical was working much faster than her mental. When she picked up the glowing, soaked-cloth object, she noticed, it too was a full-face mask.

‘I should put this on…’ A distant voice told her.

Her normal subconscious responded immediately, ‘Ew. Why would I ever do that?’

‘Put me on’

She doesn’t know what comes over her, but she fits it on.

---

“Ew,” Savannah says watching their friend put on the alley mask.

“It’s those boys! They brainwashed her to do it!” Lillian shouted, pointing and jumping up and down.

“Alright, alright calm down you Dr. Suess character!” Dylan shushed her. He crossed his arms and watched Jenna, “She’s got this. I trust her enough to know what she’s doing.”

“Why, 'cause she's your girlfriend?” Collin cooed. A tiny bolt of lighting zapped him, “Ow!”

“What if she’s in a trance?” Meghan asked worriedly.

Dylan watched, steadfast, “We’d know.”

---

‘I can’t believe I’m doing this.’

‘Well, I guess I’m doing this.’

Two thoughts seemed to speak at once. She rushed to the boys and whatever invisible force field that knocked Bella away, allowed Jenna in.

She took no time falling into step across from them. This, however, didn’t break their stride. They stayed focused and kept in step, so Jenna did as well.

---

“What the fucking fuck is happening?” Bella asked, watching slack jawed.

“Jenna… dances?” Collin said confused.

“She does now, dude,” Manny said just as confused.

Dylan was very taken aback by this but suddenly reclaimed himself, “I knew we could rely on her,” he said casually. “Now, while she’s in there, we need to be thinking of our own plan.”

“Whoo! Jenna’s a dancer now!” Lillian cried giddy.

“Shh, don’t distract her!” Savannah hissed.

“Oh, you’re right. Whoo! Jenna’s a dancer now!” Lillian stage whispered, then winked at Savannah. She blinked at her.

---

‘Damn these guys are good’ Jenna thought to herself. ‘It’s a good thing I practiced that dance video as much as I did.’

She didn’t know what this would do and didn’t really want to think about what her colleagues thought of her, all she knew was that she was making progress somewhere.

Eventually, she’d lost herself in the routine, and found herself becoming more competitive. Every mark, she hit it, every spin, she spun it. She was keeping up so effortlessly, the leader began to seize her up. The formation the boys had, broke away so that they were encircling her, all except the leader, who looked down on her as she danced.

This didn’t intimidate her. Not one bit.

The music began to die out and the dance was coming to a close. When the song faded away, only the sounds of the rain could be heard. Jenna glared at the lead. Nobody said a single thing.

Her gaze intensified as she tried to look through his mask. They were so close, again, panting heavily, both of them. She narrowed her vision more. She could almost see his eyes. Who were these people-?

THONK

“Open this damn bubble,” Bella’s voice muffled from outside the force field.

The presence of the guy suddenly leaped away and Jenna turned just in time to see him retreating with a flip.

“Hey, they’re getting away!” Lillian called, watching as the boys climbed the alley walls.

“That’s no problem for me,” Bella gritted, dashing to the wall. She flew up it, and halted as she reached the top, “Oh, are you fucking kidding me?” she groaned seeing they were completely gone.

Collin hazily joined her side patting her shoulder, “Maybe some other time.”

---

Jenna nonchalantly tucked her mask away as the other colleagues speculated what to do now. Dylan approached her.

“Hey, are you alright?” he asks, putting a hand on her shoulder.

“Doesn’t seem to be a scratch on me,” she answered dusting herself off.

“Cool. I didn’t want to stop your flow- er plan- whatever the fuck it was you were doing.”

“I don’t know Dylan,” she sighed, she unfolded the mask in her hands and looked at it, “I felt like this thing was… calling to me…”

“That?” he said a little judgementally over her shoulder, pointing to the muddy mask. She shot him a stern look. “Not that, that’s the weirdest thing that’s happened in Turmoil.”

“Come on, Let’s go return this to Ms. Anne,” she said walking off.

“Hey, I was about to say that,” he chuckled forcefully, then stumbled after her, “And yeah- whatever. I’m coming!”

He called behind the others following the two out of the rainy alleyway.
